[26-Feb-13] In addition to traditional ship-based measurements of salinity, there is now a multitude of instruments that can be used to study ocean salinity and processes. By using these tools in coordinated "sensor web" researchers can take advantage of several different types of available technology (including satellites, autonomous vehicles, buoys, drifters and moorings) to fill in missing gaps in their knowledge.
